What is your views on hte wars that are going on in different countries right now? Do you agree or disagree with it? Why? Do you believe that the U.S. had a significant impact on the negative effects of the war or not? Why?
Sounds a lot like a U.S. history question to me, but...
I think any war, regardless of the initial intentions is tragic and evil. I feel that any war is unnecessary1 and there are far better ways to negotiate without bloodshed.
What do I think of the wars going on at the mo. Well there are so many of them, where to begin.
Ingushetia:
There Russia is fighting Islamic extremists. I'm not a fan of Russia nor Islamists. Russia isn't helping itself by being heavyhanded with civilians. They need to distinguish between civilians and Islamists and iliminate the Islamists.
Afghanistan:
Why are Taleban able to cross into the country from Pakistan? It's because the border hasn't been properly secured. Each province within the country should be given to a different nation and to prevent Taleban movements, it shouldn't be possible for people to move in or out of each province.
Kashmir:
Let it be part of Pakistan. Most people there are Muslims, and the money India spends fighting that war could be better spent on the poor people elsewhere in the country.
Somalia:
I wish the government and Ethiopia weren't so soft. The Islamists there appear to be building in strength.
Iraq:
That'll become another Somalia if the US withdraws and that is obvious, but people are still debating whether or not the war should have begun. They need to live in the present and deal with the situation as it is, not as it was in 2003.
DRC:
Stop all aid to the country. Withdraw the UN. Let all the countries which want to be a part of the war there join in, let every side do what it wants and in the end like in Europe, there will be peace in East Africa.
North Korea:
Technically the N is still at war with North Korea, but nobody cares for the starving people of the country. That's why they get no real help from the US which has troops on the South Korean side of the 38th parallel.
South Ossetia:
Another place which is technically still a warzone. Give South Ossetia and Abkhasia to Russia. Georgia would be better off without those places and instead of wasting money on those places, it could spend money on strengthening itself internally.
Israel/Palestine:
Israel should withdraw from the West Bank and Jerusalem. It should only attack Palestine if it is attacked from Gaza or the West Bank, which should be recognised as being Palestine. The aim of its responsive attacks should be to reduce the capability of Palestinians to attack Israel.
Jerusalem should be administered by the UN and not be part of any country and not be the capital of any country. If necessary, divide it in 3 equally between Muslims, Christians and Jews.
Sri Lanka:
The Sri Lankan army seems to have the upperhand and hopefully it'll win.
Thailand:
Hopefully Thailand will destroy the Islamic extremists in the country.
Darfor:
All Arabs should be expelled from Darfor and it should be an independent country.
I can't think of any other wars at the moment.
Um, just out of curiosity, wouldn't this topic belong in the "News and Views" board?
Yeah, but I figured out that most of the topics posted on the news and views were topics relating to current events. I just want to start this topic to get opinions from different people about their views on the war.
(applauds) wow, poster three, very well said! I agree, so I’ll say no more.
